We are Carla and Steve, mad about cycling and France.   We spent many years coming on holiday and then decided to make a permanent move.

The first step was to buy a house which we found on a visit to the Limousin.  We rented this out whilst still living and working in the UK.  After 3 years of saving and planning, we finally made the move in April 2007.

Like any house move it was hard work and very stressful at times.  The year before, we had a major decluttering exercise.  About 1 month before, we hired a big Mercedes Sprinter van and took across most of our furniture and belongings. 

Then on 31st March 2007 we packed what we had left into our old Volkeswagen van and mercedes car and set off for a one way trip to France.  It was a good journey and we took our time, but finally arriving on the 1st April 2007. 

It’s not easy, especially with getting to grips with the language.  Through our passion for cycling  we have joined local clubs and made lots of new friends.

So far it’s been a bit of a roller coaster ride with all the usual ups and downs of settling in. Aside from all the red tap though, it’s the best thing we did.
