I was there!!!
It was a great night….yeah, there was a good crowd there…..I thoroughly enjoyed it!!
Food was great…… music was Downright Liberty. Got home about 3am.

Are we painting that bad a picture?

We love it here, absolutely love it.
It’s our home, we live here all the time. We’re not on holiday. We’re just telling it how as we see it.

The three articles I wrote about house hunting in the Limousin were to help those wearing rose coloured spectacles. To point out some of the pitfalls to be aware of. There’s loads of estate agents out there who’ll sell you a picture postcard dream.

Hi I have read a few of your blogs on the Limousin region and found them very interesting, esspecially as, I feel, you find it particularly difficlut to really say anything good or positive about the region. If the aim of this website is to speak about the Limousin in such a way as to be fair and equal, promoting the good and bad, then your well off the mark.

Yes the handles do get hot. Our Stove came with a “thermal glove” but if you don’t have one, you can use something like an oven mit. Glad we’ve got it with all this snow!

Hello I think I know the Bloke you are talking about! There is alot to be said for finding good neighbours before you find a house! We live in the Limousin too and I love being able to say on my way to work, Ahh, yes, just let the school minibus by and that’s it, no more cars untill I get to work!

A concern that I have is the Handles. Do thy get too hot to open the door without any protection?

Hi…….nice fan, 10 / 10 for efficiency, 1/ 10 for aesthetics, did it come from a 1966 Ford Anglia ?
I will let my cousin nr Limoges know about this, they are into eco – stuff and their place is freezing.

Hi Dee,
As much as we don’t like doing it we used mouse traps.
To minimise the risk of catching something else by accident we partly buried the traps in the runs.

hi there! having the same problem as you….carrots and potatoes being eaten from underground. i’ve found extensive tunnels excavated all thru’ the veg. plot and last year i had my best carrots halved…leaving only the shoulders and greenery..the exit holes are 2-3 ins. in diametre but as yet i havent seen the little monster. i would be very pleased to hear from you if you are successful in getting rid of them.
i too live in limousin..near ussel…correze.
i also have lots of golden sided voles…very pretty little things…they also burrow but are not the culprits as they are too small…the teeth marks dont match!!!
what with slow worms, toads, adders,rats, mice, moles and hedgehogs not to mention buzzards, kites, kestrals, owls and the occasional flock of cranes i’m happy to be living in such a beautiful place. hope to hear from you!
